These components are essentially the only unavoidable wear parts in pump systems. Using a bearing puller, extract both bearings from the motor shaft. Completely clean the shaft and bearing surfaces of any residual material.
Position the new bearing near the shaft's shoulder. With the rotor assembly vertical on your work surface, place an appropriately sized bearing installation tool over the shaft against the new bearing.
Using a hammer, evenly tap the tool's top to press the bearing onto the shaft until it seats firmly against the shoulder. Stop immediately when properly seated—excessive force may damage the new bearing. Repeat this process for the opposite bearing.
Position the DE housing with installed bearings onto the DE bearing seat, reinstalling any locking mechanisms.
Place the stator vertically above the ODE housing. Before inserting the rotor, inspect the stator bore for any loose wires or debris that could become entangled.
Install the bearing preload washer into the ODE bearing seat, then carefully lower the rotor assembly into the stator until the bearings align with their seats.
Return the motor to horizontal orientation and reinstall the through-bolts, tightening them in a crisscross pattern to ensure even bearing load distribution. Reattach any cooling fans and shrouds.
